April 28th, 2013

Hi All,

Well, it happened here in 2013.  Missed last week's post and cannot find the darn thing.  It was a new show featuring, among others, Joe Pug.  But alas, gone it seems to be.  I'll get things back on track this week.

Today was a live pledge drive edition of the program.  Thanks to everyone who called in--on two different occasions we had three lines all taking pledges at the same time.  We raised $425 in an hour.  Really appreciate your support of community radio.  Thanks to Jim Gullickson and Shelley Pierce for taking calls and helping with the show.

The playlist went like this...

1)  Townes Van Zandt; T for Texas; Sunshine Boy--Unheard Studio Sessions and Demos--1971-72

2) Billy Bragg; Handyman Blues; Tooth & Nail
3) Richard Thompson; Stony Ground; Electric

4) Steve Goodman; City of New Orleans; Live at the Earl of Old Town
5) Steve Goodman; Old Smoothies; Live at the Earl of Old Town

6) Nick Drake; Pink Moon; Pink Moon
7) Lucinda Williams; Right in Time; Car Wheels on a Gravel Road

8) John Prine & Iris Dement; We're Not the Jet Set; In Spite of Ourselves
9) John Prine & Melba Montgomery; Milwaukee Here We Come; In Spite of Ourselves
10) Jon Prine & Iris Dement; In Spite of Ourselves; In Spite of Ourselves (requested by Shelley Pierce)

If you haven't yet pledged and would like to do so, feel free to call 507-389-5678 or 1-800 456-7810.  Head over to the KMSU webpage and you'd like to pledge online or learn more about the thank you gifts.
